Working at Dexory

Can you briefly introduce yourself and provide an overview of your role within the company?

I've been working in sales since I finished university, starting as a salesperson in Lithuania before moving to the UK to work for a big corporate organisation. I never imagined I'd stay in one place for 15 years, but I did. Eventually, I felt the need for a change, which led me to Dexory.

My sales experience spans two countries, and while I didn't work in both simultaneously, I now sell to customers worldwide. This global aspect makes my job incredibly interesting because it requires an understanding of various cultures, language barriers, and cultural nuances. My background has been a significant advantage in this regard, and I consider it one of my strengths.

What's the most interesting or unexpected thing you've learned since joining this company? What’s different about Dexory from other companies you worked for?

A refreshing change from corporate life.

I came from a corporate background, having worked for a large organisation for 15 years. While there were benefits to that environment, it often felt distant, especially across different management levels.

At Dexory, I discovered something different. The co-founders are deeply involved in every aspect of the company. The CEO, Andrei, personally assists with customer demos, and Oana, our Chief Commercial & Product Officer, is aware of each customer's situation. This level of engagement is both admirable and refreshing.

What's the best team-building activity or event you've participated in at the company?

Memorable team building experience at Red Bull Arena.

I was only three or four months into the organisation when we had a team-building day at Red Bull Arena. The venue was amazing, surrounded by sports cars. We had a tour where we saw how the sports cars are made and learned about the processes the company goes through.

What made it memorable for me was how much the sports car manufacturing process reflects Dexory's values as a company. First of all, speed. Everything is about speed, and we always talk about decision-making processes and being first in the market.

Secondly - every small thing matters. Small improvements and adjustments that are made behind the scenes are the things that make our customer experience outstanding

Thirdly, it's not just about the car; it's also about the safety of the driver. This mirrors how Dexory cares about its people as well.

Can you share a hobby or passion of yours outside of work that brings you joy and influences your professional life.

The meditative art of knitting and its connection to Sales.

I know it's often seen as an old granny's hobby, but I genuinely love knitting. For me, knitting is a form of meditation and focus. It helps calm my mind at the end of the day. I enjoy watching beautiful yarns, especially with so many gorgeous colours and textures available now, transform into something usable and wearable.

How does this relate to my professional work? Quite a lot, actually. Just like in knitting, sales involves weaving stories and creating something from nothing. The end result is a final product or service that the customer finds valuable. Unravelling is also a part of knitting, and it's similar to sales. You unravel the customer's perceptions, desires, and needs.

While knitting, I don't think much about selling because I need to concentrate and count my stitches. However, this meditative practice helps me start my sales job with a clear mind the next day.
