Meet the Dexory Team: Martin, Delivery Lead-Platform
Can you briefly introduce yourself and provide an overview of your role within the company?
I've been with the company since 2019, back when it was known as BotsAndUs (before it became Dexory). When I first joined, we were a small team of individuals with a shared vision of creating robots for various applications, including supermarkets, airports, and more.
My background is rooted in embedded engineering, which I studied at the University of Leicester. I always had a passion for electronics, influenced by both my family back in Norway, and my experiences working on electronic components for sound equipment. This passion eventually led me to work in the sound gig industry. Afterward, I delved into web development, building websites for different companies, before joining Dexory in the summer of 2019.
My current role is Platform Delivery Lead, meaning I am responsible for technical deliveries. Essentially, my team ensures that our robots are online, connected, and operational, providing support to all the other teams within the company. We make sure that every team has the necessary tools and resources to work effectively with our robots.
Beyond this core responsibility, I also wear a few other hats within the company, contributing in various ways to our mission and growth.
Can you share how Dexory's solutions have made a significant impact in real-world applications?
To me, Dexory's most impactful achievement is the solution we created, DexoryView. We've managed to build a solution that has a true impact: it’s saving significant time and effort by automating monotonous tasks, particularly manual inventory checks in warehouses.
Instead of spending weeks on this tedious work, our technology enables businesses to complete it efficiently and accurately every night. This tool has eliminated the need for individuals to engage in day-to-day monotonous tasks, enhancing productivity and efficiency in typically labor-intensive warehouse operations.
Why did you choose to work for Dexory?
I remember coming into the interview and seeing the robot, operating around me and going to charge itself. I was really amazed: it didn’t crash into things, driving itself! It really blew my mind that it knew what to do and where to go without humans driving it. I was also able to see the robot’s point of view on my laptop from the camera attached to it which is really cool.
What are you most known for at Dexory?
I am known for my amazing pair of Crocs. I believe they are the most comfortable footwear, so They come with me everywhere I go: in the office, or on offsites, etc.
I actually think it’d be a great idea to have a Dexory-branded Croc shoe one day!
Can you share a hobby or passion of yours outside of work that brings you joy and influences your professional life.
My professional journey has been deeply influenced by my lifelong passion for astronomy, and I remember considering it as a potential career path at one point in my life. I find using a telescope to observe other planets is truly mind-blowing. There's something incredibly special about being able to look at the sky so closely.
This interest in astrophysics and astronomy have definitely played a significant role in shaping my professional path, it feeds my curiosity!
